Prof. Moshe Halbertal

Professor in the Departments of Jewish Thought and Philosophy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Professor and Head of the Gross Chair at the New York University School of Law.  Was elected in 2010 as a member of Israel’s National Academy of Sciences. Published numerous books and articles on the philosophy of Halakhah, Jewish thought, ethics and general philosophy. His most recent book in English (with Stephen Holmes) is 'The Beginning of Politics: Power in the Biblical Book of Samuel' (2017, Princeton). This year he published in Hebrew, 'The Birth of Doubt: Uncertainty in Rabbinic Literature' (2021, Magnes).
